BRI's long history started in 1842 with international debt recovery and related mercantile services performed on behalf of American clients seeking assistance throughout the world, as well as with clients from abroad seeking assistance in America. BRI's predecessor company, McKillop Walker & Co. did business in such countries as Prussia and such cities as Constantinople – names which have long passed into the history books! Prominent to this 19th century business was Europe which has remained the cornerstone of BRI relationships – both with clientele as well as in our recovery services.
As a result of this long association with European countries, a deep network of agents, law firms, and other resource colleagues, has been established. Like any evolving and growing organization, BRI is still seeking to maximize its contacts and relationships so as to serve not only such core Western countries such as the UK, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, the Scandinavian countries and others but also to recognize the emergence of the Eastern European countries as locales where businesses both need international debt recovery services but also as places where debts originate from requiring recovery capabilities locally, and in local languages such as Polish, Hungarian and Russian.
BRI has the resources both in-house as well as through its proprietary agent network to insure the success of our efforts in the region through numerous visits to our agents, debtors, and other resources. We attend conferences, speak at others, and actively communicate with our European colleagues on EU directives, American federal law developments on debt recovery and related topics.
